The Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Prof. Abubakar O.Sulaiman, has reiterated the commitment of the Institute to consolidate on legislative capacity building for institutions and professional bodies.
Prof. Sulaiman made this known on Wednesday while receiving a delegation from the Association of Hansard/Verbatim Reporters of Nigeria, a professional body for all official Hansard reporters in National and State Assemblies.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Gobina Drisu, during his remarks, lauded the DG’s stewardship at NILDS and also commended the Institute for developing targeted initiatives like NILDS’ Higher National Diploma and Proficiency Certificates in Official Reporting, which has helped reinforce reportorial skills of AHVRN members.
Speaking further, he praised the support extended by NILDS in the area of training of their members and solicited for more professional training programmes to enhance members’ experiences in official and legislative reporting.
