The General Manager of NTA Parliament, Hajia Lami Ali, has commended the Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, for his transformative leadership and remarkable achievements in repositioning the Institute over the past seven years.
Ali made the commendation on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, when she led the management team of NTA Parliament on a courtesy visit to the Institute.
She described Sulaiman’s tenure as one marked by visionary initiatives and significant institutional growth, noting that his leadership had enhanced NILDS’ visibility, relevance and impact within Nigeria’s legislative and democratic space.
Responding, the Director General expressed appreciation to the NTA Parliament management for the visit and acknowledged the station’s continued partnership and support for the Institute.
Sulaiman particularly commended NTA Parliament for its invaluable role in projecting NILDS’ programmes, activities and achievements to a wider audience. He noted that the station’s coverage had contributed significantly to public awareness and appreciation of the Institute’s role in strengthening legislative capacity and democratic governance.
He also praised the professionalism and commitment of NTA Parliament in promoting issues of national importance, describing the relationship between the two institutions as a strategic partnership that had continued to produce positive results.
