NILDS Explores Digital Learning Partnership To Strengthen Capacity Development

National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has reaffirmed its commitment to leveraging digital technology to expand legislative training, research and capacity development through strategic institutional partnerships.

The Director General of NILDS, Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, stated this while receiving a delegation from Questence Limited, led by its Managing Director, Mr. Olukayode Sodimu, during a courtesy visit to the Institute’s headquarters in Abuja.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore areas of collaboration in digital learning and capacity development. Questence Limited presented its cloud based e-learning platform and other technology solutions designed to support online training, digital content management and institutional knowledge sharing. The company also proposed a pilot programme that would enable NILDS to assess the platform’s suitability for its academic and executive education programmes.

Responding, Prof. Sulaiman noted that NILDS has continued to strengthen its digital learning ecosystem through the deployment of e-learning platforms, digital library services, and online portals for its postgraduate and executive programmes. He observed that the COVID-19 pandemic underscored the importance of integrating technology into learning and institutional operations to ensure uninterrupted knowledge delivery.

Demonstrating his commitment to innovation and digital transformation, the Director General welcomed the proposal and assured the delegation that the relevant departments of the Institute would engage with the company to explore areas of mutual interest. He noted that any collaboration should complement NILDS’ ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital learning ecosystem, particularly within its Advanced Executive Education Programme and other specialised training initiatives.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing optimism about future collaboration aimed at expanding access to quality legislative education, strengthening institutional capacity, and promoting technology driven learning solutions in support of democratic governance.
