The Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, on Wednesday commissioned a block of three toilet facilities constructed at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Piwoyi, Abuja, under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Community Development Service (CDS).
The ceremony featured a welcome address by the Principal of GSSS Piwoyi, remarks by the NYSC CDS Coordinator, goodwill messages from stakeholders, and an address by the representative of the Chief of Piwoyi Village before the official commissioning and inspection of the project by the Director General.
The project was initiated by Salisu Al-amin Mohammed, an NYSC corps member serving at NILDS, as his Community Development Service (CDS) project to improve sanitation and promote a healthier learning environment for students.
In his remarks, Professor Sulaiman commended the initiative, describing it as a worthy contribution to community and environmental development. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting healthy living, announcing that he would support the construction of an additional toilet facility at the school, noting that a clean and healthy environment is essential to safeguarding the well-
being and future of Nigeria’s youth.
