The National Institute for Legislative Studies and Democratic Studies (NILDS) and Federal University, Lokoja, formalized their academic partnership on Tuesday through a memorandum of understanding. The collaboration aims to expand the University’s postgraduate programs by incorporating contemporary fields, such as parliamentary and legislative studies, which require the expertise available at NILDS.
Led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, the University delegation met with Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, the Director-General of NILDS, who expressed confidence that the University would greatly benefit from NILDS’ esteemed reputation and extensive outreach, which would enhance the credibility and value of their programs.
The discussion for this partnership had commenced in 2022, and the signing of the MoU now solidifies the agreement reached during the talks.
